Thanks so much for choosing this incredible trip to Oaxaca. We love Oaxaca—it’s like our second home, and its people our extended family. On this trip, mezcal is the hero: from the 24 varieties of agave plants chosen by a seasoned palenquero, to steaming in-ground in a charcoal pit, to being distilled multiple times in traditional clay pots... The process takes weeks, but has been perfected through generations. We'll meet a fourth-generation mezcalero and taste some of the region's most sought-after, small-batch mezcals.

Of course, there's more to Oaxaca than mezcal. We'll also meet shamans and weavers, eat in rooftop restaurants and at a local artist’s home, and explore Zapotec pyramids and traditional mountain villages. If you travel to stimulate all of your senses, welcome to Modern Adventure’s Oaxaca!
